These Terms govern your use of the RoostScan mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the App.

1. Use of the App

The App provides chicken breed suggestions, educational information, and tools for saving and organizing collections. You may use it for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You must not interfere with the App or its services, bypass purchase or usage restrictions, introduce harmful software, access systems without authorization, or use automated requests to abuse the identification service.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to submit any photos or other content you provide. Do not submit unlawful content or sensitive personal information.

If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms independently, a parent or guardian must provide any consent required by applicable law.

2. Identification and Local Storage

Chicken identification requires an internet connection. Selected photos and any optional chicken details are transmitted to our identification service and processed temporarily by our model to return breed suggestions.

Identification photos are used only to process your request. They are not retained in online storage or used to train our model.

Your collections, saved scan photos, scan history, and preferences are stored locally on your device. These collections are not synchronized to a cloud account.

Local information may be lost if you delete it, remove app data, uninstall the App, or lose access to your device. Recovery may depend on backups managed by your operating system. We cannot remotely restore collections that exist only on your device.

3. Data and Privacy

The App uses external services to support features such as subscriptions, notifications, optional emails, analytics, advertising measurement, and customer support. These services may process relevant customer, usage, and technical information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed and describes your privacy choices and rights. Accepting these Terms does not replace any separate consent required for optional processing.

4. Identification Accuracy and Educational Information

Breed suggestions are possible matches based on image analysis, not definitive identifications. Similar-looking breeds, mixed ancestry, age, lighting, camera angle, and photo quality can affect results.

We aim to provide useful information, but identification results and educational content may contain errors or omissions. Verify important information with reliable sources or qualified experts.

The App does not establish pedigree, genetic ancestry, health status, or suitability for breeding. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice or other professional assessment.

Do not rely solely on the App when making decisions about animal health, treatment, breeding, purchases, or sales.

5. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Refunds

Some features require an in-app purchase or an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The price, subscription period, included features, and any trial or introductory terms are displayed before purchase.

Payment is handled through your store account according to the terms shown at purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before renewal in accordance with the applicable store terms.
Trials or introductory offers may convert to paid subscriptions as disclosed before purchase unless canceled in time.
Manage or cancel your subscription through the store where you purchased it.
Deleting the App, disabling notifications, or unsubscribing from emails does not cancel a paid subscription.
Cancellation normally stops future renewals. Access generally continues until the end of the paid period, subject to the store’s terms and any refund or revocation.
Canceling does not automatically refund previous payments.

Refund eligibility follows the applicable store policies and consumer law. For Apple purchases, use Apple’s refund process. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s process or contact support for assistance where applicable.

Refunds, including partial refunds, are not guaranteed and depend on the applicable policies and legal rights. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

Purchase restoration may require the same store account used for the original purchase. If purchased access is missing, use the restoration option or contact support.

6. Intellectual Property

The App’s software, design, branding, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purposes. You may not redistribute, resell, or copy protected parts of the App without permission, except where applicable law allows it.

You retain any rights you hold in photos and other content you submit. You authorize us to process that content only as needed to provide the requested features, as described in our Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership of your content.

7. Availability and Changes to the App

Online features depend on internet connectivity and service availability. Maintenance, technical issues, or external service interruptions may affect access or identification requests.

We may update the App to improve features, maintain security, or meet legal requirements. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Changes affecting paid services remain subject to applicable consumer law and store rules. Where required, we will provide notice and applicable remedies.

8. Misuse and Restrictions

We may restrict access to online services where reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud, security risks, or a material breach of these Terms.

Any restriction will be subject to applicable law. Restricting service access does not itself cancel a store subscription; subscription management remains available through the applicable store.

9. Liability and Consumer Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by reliance on incorrect breed suggestions, misuse of the App, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

Your mandatory rights concerning digital services, service conformity, refunds, and other consumer protections remain unaffected.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. Updated Terms will appear here with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated where required.

Where applicable law requires your agreement to a change, we will request it. Changes will not remove rights you already have under mandatory law.
