Giriraja is a breed of chicken developed by Karnataka Veterinary, Animal, and Fisheries Sciences University in Bengaluru, India. It was developed from crossing pure line exotic birds to have the desired traits that resemble desi birds.

Habitat

Giriraja chickens are adaptable to various environments, thriving in both urban and rural settings. They are particularly suited to the climatic conditions of India. However, they can be raised in similar tropical or semi-tropical regions around the world.
